WHAT IS THE TKT?

Cambridge ESOL has launched this new flexible and accessible award focusing on the core teaching knowledge needed by teachers, whatever their background and teaching experience. Directors of Studies throughout the world are now viewing this as an important qualification and new teachers use it as stepping stone to courses such as the CELTA, CTEFL or DELTA.

HOW CAN YOU PREPARE FOR THE TKT?

CELT Athens is offering a short 30-hour preparation course designed for those who have already attended methodology courses and wish to prepare for the test. Teachers who have attended our own CTEFL or IMC courses, or courses at other institutions, are invited to visit our web page to be further informed about how they can participate. Teachers who have not attended a methodology course can also prepare through this course which covers the background to teaching, learning and sound classroom practice, although Cambridge ESOL recommends that they would also usually need to follow a methodology course in order to prepare for the practice of teaching.

News Bulletin

ASEP Examination Results

We are pleased to announce that 68% of our trainees of ASEP prep and CTEFL courses were appointed! 90% received grades 80% and above in the methodology and pedagogy section! More than 50 candidates attended our courses in 2004 and more are expected in 2006. It was a great pity that some really excellent results in the methodology and pedagody Paper were marred by poorer results in the language section.
