CELT
Athens was founded in
1993 and is an established Teacher Education in Greece widely
known for its role and contribution to the improvement of Foreign
Language Education in this country. To date, it has trained more
that 2,500 Foreign Language teachers, directors of studies and administrators
and has worked with the private as well as the state school
sector.
CELTtrainees
come not only from Greece, but from many other countries (the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, S. Africa
and more). They come to CELT to start or refresh their teaching career and many
are currently hold posts in Greece or Overseas. CELT Athens is primarily a TEFL training centre
dedicated to teacher development and to the pursuit of excellence in foreign
language education both in the private as well as the public sector and is
committed to
a policy of equal opportunities
Modern Greek Language &
Culturecourses organised mainly in

Affiliations
The following Official Examination Boards
include CELT Athens in their authorised course listings. CELT has the right to offer their programmes and administer their examinations.
The
London Institute of Linguists,
has included CELT Athens in their list of
Registered Centres offering Translation courses from English to Greek and Greek
into English. In 2003 CELT Athens also became an Examination Centre for
the Diploma in Translation (for any language pair).
PALSO, the Pan-Hellenic Association of Language School Owners is one of the organisations
which has endorsed CELT Athens programmes. CELT Athens has run many courses and
seminars for this organisation which
were attended
by local Foreign Language School Owners and their teachers. The University of
Athens English Literature Department has also asked CELT for its assistance in
offering methodology seminars to its fourth year students.
