  CELTA CTEFL

Who can

Apply?

Both native and non-native speakers are accepted on the course and both are expected to have a level of education, language awareness and competence in English which will enable them to deal with all aspects of the assessment in a successful way. Non-native speaker participants should have appropriate qualifications which would allow them to teach English in their country.

All candidates for this course (native and non-native) should have completed their secondary level education and be at least eighteen years of age.. Non-native speaker participants should hold a recognized Certificate of Proficiency in English and have appropriate qualifications which would allow them to teach English in their country.

How do you choose candidates? All candidates whether native or non native are required to take a pre-interview language assessment, a face-to-face or telephone interview with the Course Tutor and then, if accepted, undertake to complete a course preparation series of tasks. If the candidate's' level of English or grammar knowledge and awareness are found to be less than satisfactory, s/he is advised to attend a Language Awareness for Teachers course.
